10th Generation Dairyman
Добавлен 9 дек 2015
My name is Eric, I'm a dairy farmer in southern Pennsylvania. We have a 200 cow milking herd along with 150 or so young stock. We farm 250 acres where we grow all our forage and a little grain. I'm making videos of what I do day to day. I hope you enjoy.

7220 Repairs & How Much Milk are the Cows Making?
That young man is a worker !!!! 🎉🎉 hats off to him and his dad ..... you know the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree 😊
I always wondered how you get big rocks from little ones. Growing em in your fertile soil 👍😅
Is that seeding possible?
I'll say one thing you are a hard working young man. I cringe every time you climb that silo. My legs used to burn climbing an eighty footer!! Great video.
👍👌❤️🇨🇦
You guys don’t feed no high moisture corn at all where you put the kernel in the cob little bit of the cob in or just the colonel
what a gorgeous crop!!!
Watched a bunch of your videos, your doing great, love the content. Informative, educational, and now I want to fire up Farm Sim 22 again lol.
In one of your Q&A episodes your dad stated that your family farm has been around since the 1600's. Was your family farm, or farms ever a plantation, and did your family have slaves? Also what is your family's stance on the racism that exists in America today?
No the farm was never a plantation. We are in Pennsylvania so there wasn't any of that in this neighborhood. My family was Mennonite Christians that came over from Europe and did not support slavery.
@@10thgenerationdairyman61 Thanks for the reply, but records show that some of that activity went on in that area of PA so I had to ask. I watch and enjoy your videos and since I do I wanted to be sure about who I'm supporting when I do watch. Keep up the good work with your vids thanks for your answer, and you have my support. God Bless.
Beautiful fields, sir! Hard work paying off. I hope the yields are nice and high for you guys this year!
I’m praying there are other young guys who are equally responsible across the country. Am I a wishful thinker? Eric - do you have a group with whom you communicate?
Hello from Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Canada great videos thanks for sharing with all of us😊
Hi Eric, I'm doing a write up about solar power for dairy farms for a publication in New Zealand and would love to show your barn. Few farmers here currently use solar power and certainly not at this scale. This is eye opening. Would you be interested in being involved? I've sent you an email. Let me know what you think.
John Deere crap Buy Fendt or Claas
I have never seen a splitter work so fast. Must be a really nice unit.
great video thankd for posting
11:50 - I was one of the ones asking that question and assumed the right answer but other viewers were nice and answered/confirmed. Thanks for your response today - You seem to be having a good season so far.
How many head of cattle are you.feeding?
Lol don’t like manual labor , could have fooled me seeing how hard you guys work. I guess not liking it and having to do it are 2 different things.
👍👌❤️🇨🇦,well planned changes can be a good thing
Great sir , which is the daily milk production in your farm sir 🎉
You and your family are very hard worker and it looks like you love what you are doing. Great job guys
I’m from pa but not a farmer, just a 9-5 guy, love the vids and much love to our farmers!
It’s good to see the younger generation getting into farming or following in there dads footsteps
Good job you have a wipe Blade is going
What is the unloader do
If you have the spout shooting out the lower part of the door then you can let go longer before doorchanges- especialy withought a cleanchute plastic in it.
does that unloader have the controls inside so you can control it?
Miss those days grew up farming. Great videos.
Oi 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
We quit milking in 2017. Crazy how fast the memories fade of milking, all the years later though can still remember all the steps that people don’t realize go into just the milking process every day
Work smarter not harder
Thanks for the in-depth look of the milking parlor! I've seen several parlors and noticed differences, but not understood what those differences are or why one may be better than another. Thanks for your explanations!
Crops look good Eric…👍
You are so caring towards your cows that have given birth oh so beautiful
cant wait for you to adapt to your new feeding system with the lely vector. gonna be a challenge but an interesting one! sure you can handle it!
yo i love your videos all the way but please dude just cut some of your emotions in 😅its okay to have feelings
How much worker there dude?
Thanks Eric for showing all the improvements to your farm. Looks great!!
I am on a trip out west from Ohio. I watched this post in Livingston, Montana.
Pls i will like to work with you
If you put feeders in the parlour you’d fit them all in
Thought about that before
Eric. The joy of a wood splitter! My dad got one when I was past 20. Until then, it was an axe & and sledge, and my mom went through cords of wood. You brought back good old memories.
Ive been following you for awhile. I noticed this morning. It said, subscribe?
Have to get you over to help split wood this fall
All good!
Don't you think that reel for the silo unloader is a bit low? Really? I know you wanted it low but isn't it a bit too low?
Lucky man. If it has been me the spacing between the new silos would have been 6" too short for the bobcat to go.
GOOD MORNING 🙏 ALL
